StrikeIron is playing a key role in helping companies recoup revenue lost to piracy via its new partnership with VI Labs.
VI Labs' CodeArmor Intelligence product is a software solution that helps prevent the theft of software intellectual property. The product gathers and reports back piracy use data to be used by a sales team to help organizations become compliant. In other words, make them pay.
Within the solution, IP address information is collected from where a product is in use, enabling the capture of the corresponding Web domain from anywhere in the world (a substantial amount of lost revenue occurs internationally). A StrikeIron Web service is then utilized to retrieve the corresponding business information to actually see if the non-compliance is occurring from within an otherwise reputable organization. In a case such as this, using VI Labs' Salesforce plug-in enables this to generate a non-compliance lead for the sales organization.
The StrikeIron Web service in use is StrikeIron's Web Domain Business Intelligence Web Service. Utilizing a Web domain URL, it provides information such as SIC codes, current contact information, number of employees, revenue and revenue history, executive lists and contact information, product lines, and other relevant information important in identifying and contacting non-compliant organizations.
Here is a screenshot of the Salesforce screen showing detailed evidence of non-compliance, followed by another shot of how and where the business information is retrieved from StrikeIron for contact purposes within the CodeArmor solution.
Software pirates beware (and get out your checkbook).
